Hesper’s interior, and a new vision
Hesper’s interior hasn’t changed much through the years- originally designed for comfortable couples cruising, she is cozy, stable and easy to walk around. However, for Hesper to thrive, and truly make a living for herself, a new interior vision needs to be recognized.
Hesper’s forward area bunks have always been a bit of a anomaly. A double to port, single to starboard. No real privacy or storage, and somewhat unnaturally high to accommodate slopped storage below and battery banks. This summer, our shipwright, Rob Blood (R.E. Blood Boatworks) and I will be tackling a two fold project- Removal of the old diesel engine (Perkins Sabre M65), and just as important, the creation of a bunk area up forward to allow for a better charter setup.
This new bunk setup will allow for much greater booking flexibility. Hesper is unique- She is totally private and bookings are held to your own group. If she were to be a per bunk booking process, then cabins would need to be created to help with privacy. As it stands, there’s no surprise when dear old dad starts snoring!
